In fact, Madeleine Holt was the first Arts and Culture Correspondent on BBC 2 Newsnight. In her ten years on the programme, she interviewed everyone from George Clooney to Beryl Cook. She is known for her tough interviewing style and hard-hitting reports on arts issues.
Madeleine’s twenty-year career at the BBC embraced both national and regional television and radio. She has reported for all the big programmes, including the Radio 4 Today programme. Madeleine has covered some of the biggest stories, such as the death of Princess Diana. She has also interviewed world figures, among them are Sir Paul McCartney, David Hockney and the Aga Khan.
Today Madeleine is involved in numerous non-party political campaigns to improve state education. She runs the social enterprise Meet the Parents, which encourages parents to support their local comprehensive.
